Check It Out!

Of course you will find an ad for Trellises Restaurant in this issue, but do not think for a minute that the ad influences this article. I have lived most of my forty something years in North Hollywood, and believe me when I tell you, I welcome Trellises’ lovely fresh air patio garden dining ambiance.
Kayvon, the owner and your gracious host, has created a natural environment that cleanses the air and cools off the hot day while you enjoy Middle Eastern fare cooked fresh in his brand new kitchen. Kayvon says he cooks the Basmati rice the Iranian way, “not to sticky but not like Uncle Ben’s.”
I’ve been here four times since they opened and sampled many delicious dishes. There is lots of delicate flavor in the marinated Cornish game hen dish. Filet mignon kabobs (the most expensive item on the menu at only $8.95) and special chicken kabobs are just a few of the other menu items. Eggplant specialty dishes and salads that are served a little differently than a westerner would expect make the menu full of surprises. Ask Kayvon to describe any dish you are not sure of—he is very eager to make your afternoon at Trellises a memorable one. Lunch for two with a never empty glass of iced tea will run from $7.00 to $12.00 per person.
