Are you an artist in search of a gallery? An art teacher seeking a place to hold class? A theatre company looking for rehearsal space? If you answer yes to any of these questions, you might want to contact the folks at the North Weddington Recreation and Arts Center. The Center is currently expanding its regular Arts program in order to more fully involve the NoHo community, and seeks interested individuals to help create an exciting new headquarters for the Arts. This is your chance to sing, dance, act, paint, or whatever in a supportive and intriguing atmosphere. Contact Louise Capone at (818) 506-1467 for more information.

Arts/Earthquake Recovery Program: The City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department has established an Arts/Earthquake Recovery Program to help artists who were affected by the January 17 earthquake. A fund is being set up to aid with restoration and preservation, replacement of materials and equipment, or locating temporary space. If you were affected by the earthquake, please call 213-688-ARTS and leave your name, address and daytime phone number. Cultural Affairs Department Staff will contact you with program details.

The Red Pendulum has come under new management and has been renamed Spellbound West. The new owners plan on greatly expanding the current inventory of books, crystals, incense and various sundries with which to ward off ill-meaning spirits or invite benevolent apparitions. The grand opening of Spellbound West will be held on February 13 and 14, and will feature a number of authors who will be reading and signing their books. Now is a good time to go and make sure your favorite potion becomes a regular item as they order their inventory.

On Tuesday, March 8, an important election will be held to elect 13 people to the 25-member Project Area Committee (PAC), a citizens committee to advise the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) on future improvements in North Hollywood.
